Pre – Retirement Planning (Civil Servants)

The Challenge

In 2020 Torc successfully tendered for a three year contract to provide Pre Retirement Planning
workshops to a large number of Civil Servants retiring across in Ireland each year.

Torc Response

As part of the tender process we identified and assembled a team of thirty subject matter experts
and trainers across the state and signed them up to join Torc in the eventual delivery of the project.

On successful award of the contract the immediate challenge was to develop detailed content of
seven Modules to be delivered in a Two Day Workshop format at approved locations in Dublin, Cork and Athlone. Each Pre-Retirement Workshop would involve seven Module Trainers and one Workshop Lead Trainer – Co-ordinator.

Due to the COVID pandemic the very first requirement was to convert all the Workshop content for on-line delivery. This was achieved within two months and a Pilot on-line Workshop was successfully delivered to One Learning on schedule. After the Pilot final adjustments were made to the programme content.

Using the WebEx platform a front team and a reserve team of trainers were inducted to the system
and fully trained on the on-line delivery of their Modules.

The first live Pre-Retirement Workshop was delivered in December to a carefully selected group of 30 Civil Service retirees and following very positive evaluations a full delivery schedule commenced in January 2021.

The Result

Currently Pre-Retirement Workshops for Civil Servants are being delivered to 120 retirees from across all Irish Government Departments each month.

Consistently high evaluations are being achieved.
