Tilda – Research Results

Great news for Retirees! Recent research from TILDA (The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing) tells us that older people in Ireland report high levels of wellbeing – with most feeling younger than their actual age and maintaining a sense of confidence and purpose.

This wellbeing comes in part from older people recognising benefits in old age such as increased wisdom and maturity, with opportunities for growth and a lessening of demands upon them.

Quality of life – retirees vs people at 50

The table above shows how quality of life changes with age – the striking feature is that quality of life at 80 can be the same as at 50! This very good news for people as they approach the retirement stage of life.
