This new feature on our online portal is attracting alot of attention from clients – I thought I would share some insights as to how it works.

The Interview preparation module is just one of many self-dierected modules included in the portal, which the candidate can utilise in their own time and at their own pace.

The candidate can chose to initially browse typical interview questions under a number of headings:

Openers
About you
Company specific
Work history
Competency based
Future, goals, motivators
Closing

There is a range of questions under each topic, for which the candidate should consider their answer.  They can then watch an employer video advising how best to answer the specific question. In this way they can build awareness of what the employer is looking for and reconsider how they would amend their answer for a real interview situation.

Mock interview

The candiate can practise interview questions from leading hiring managers, against the clock.

They can choose either an automatic selection of questions or they can select their own questions and record their answers by video or text.

When the candidate has completed their mock interview, they can then view employer videos explaining why they ask these questions, and how good answers differ from poor ones.

As candidates repeat the exercise they gain confidence and competence in interview technique.
