Employee Career portal features (No.2)
by Paddy Collins on October 29th, 2014The new employee career management portal has a vast suite of resources to help the user with every aspect of their career. This new version of the portal has been designed for use by employees within an organisation and can be a key enabler of personal development, career planning, internal mobility, employee communications and engagement.
This is the second in our series of articles describing the foundation blocks of the portal.
The second key feature is all about Career Planning.
1. Introduction
It starts with an introduction to the concept of career planning and why it is fundamental to anybody who wants to develop their career in a properly structured way. The introduction is provided in both script and video formats.
2. Framework
The candidate then moves into a series of short questionnaires based on establishing an ‘Intelligent Career Framework’ to assess if they are ready to develop their career. This provides good advice for developing a career plan, identifying key skills and building and maintaining an effective network of contacts.
3. Planning
Using the interactive career planner tool, the candidate works through a series of proven actions and builds a custom programme that reflects specific aspirations and tracks progress as the candidate completes tasks and goals. The end result is a personal career action plan.
4. Executing your career journey
Discover the real art of setting effective goals and objectives and developing skills. Find out how to build a career marketing plan including working out a networking strategy, managing online footprint and getting that elevator pitch just right. There are also tips on recognising your own skills and any potential gaps with those required by employers. This module contains a variety of videos and scripted texts developed by industry experts.
